Bertram Buchzik studied law at the University of Konstanz and completed his legal clerkship at the higher regional court district of Karlsruhe. He is admitted to the bar in Germany and Switzerland.

Prior to founding his law firm – Buchzik Law Firm – in 2009, he gained practical experience at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg, at a Berlin law firm specialised in art and copyright law and at Kavanagh Dahl & Knight LLP, based in New York.

He also completed a Master’s degree at the University of Berne with a focus on Intellectual Property law/Internet law (IP-/ICT-law) and the course for the German specialist lawyer for Information Technology law (IT-law). He worked as legal counsel at a Swiss software company and as an attorney at a law at the Zug and Zurich offices of a firm focused on Internet and IT law. Furthermore, he was data protection officer of a public entity in Zurich.

For freigutpartners, Bertram Buchzik mainly advises clients in the areas of Internet, copyright and competition law and represents them in Switzerland and Germany, particularly in court disputes.
